刘雅历(林子祥 饰)是一名广告公司高层,但感情生活并不如意——女友碧姬(关之琳 饰)与他分手了。本来就沉默寡言的雅历更加孤寂伤痛了,生活依旧刻板平凡。 后来他在一个合唱团里认识了一位极有天分的女孩巫慧敏(周慧敏 饰),本来打算对她多加照顾培训,却遭到慧敏母亲朱丽娥(郑裕玲 饰)的不满,以为雅历对自己年轻的女儿动了歪念,两人也因此成为了斗气冤家。 经多次的交往之后,朱丽娥才发现自己误会了雅历,便对他完全改观了,有困难的时候丽娥也主动找雅历帮忙。丽娥本来就是个离婚妇人,遇到了同样感情空虚的雅历,两人之间很快便滋长了爱情。这时,雅历的前女友碧姬却回来要求复合……
春娥
在通往村东头的一条田间小路上,刚从县城回来的侯家二小子侯保见把自行车骑得飞快。快到村口时,保见顺便看了一眼在瓜地看瓜的木仓大叔后,急不可待地来到春娥家,拥吻着春娥就往里屋走。自从正月十五看花灯时和春娥好上后,在县城帮老大看饭馆的保见就像丢了魂似地隔三差五就往家里跑。春娥是个命苦的女人。结婚不到二年,丈夫就死了,儿子马驹都快五岁还不会说话。丈夫死后,漂亮贤惠的春娥里里外外一把手,既操持着家务,还把老公公木仓爹侍侯得就如同自己的亲爹一样。木仓大叔也是一个通情达里的人。儿子死后,木仓大叔就搬出门,带着不会说话的小孙子马驹,一心扑在村头的瓜地里。其实,木仓大叔这样做也有他另一层心思,那就是木仓大叔理解作为一个女人的苦。毕竟纸里包不住火。保见来的次数多了,从家里跑到瓜地的看家狗“利来”的异常引起了木仓大叔的警觉。终于,春娥和保见的事被木仓大叔发现。这种事要放在别人肯定不会轻饶,但木仓大叔理解儿媳妇春娥的苦。既然生米煮成了熟饭,春娥和保见的事在村主任的撮合和主持下,一个简单的婚礼算是成全了一对有情人的姻缘。春娥嫁到老侯家后,因为保见害怕他爹的缘故,再加上春娥又是一个寡妇,所以在侯家过着忍气吞声的日子。但这一切并不防碍春娥和保见的恩爱。平常的日子里,春娥担负起一个家庭主妇的重担,在保见爹挑剔的眼光下,百般小心地尽着一个为人儿媳妇的责任。除此之外,春娥还得隔三差五地回木仓大爹家,给木仓爹浆洗衣服、收拾家务、做一顿热饭。春娥的苦,春娥自己不说木仓爹也看在眼里。春娥毕竟不是自己的亲闺女,有些话不好明说,保见又因为害怕他爹不敢说出来。就这样,春娥常常为了家庭的和睦忍气以泪洗面。时间长了,心疼媳妇的保见最终与他爹闹翻。保见爹因私放高利贷被警察询问后,春娥把儿子马驹从瓜地里接回了家。可等春娥再次回瓜地给木仓爹送饭时,木仓爹在劳累过度中沉然睡去,就再也没有醒来。春娥和保见就着瓜地里的一块空地,披麻戴孝地下葬了木仓爹。堆起的新坟前,春娥让儿子马驹跪下给爷爷磕头的那一刻,瓜地里一颗熟透的西瓜“噶”地一声裂成两半,西瓜裂开处,瓜瓤鲜红、瓜子如墨。
等待方舟
Set in an underground dungeon inhabited by bundled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear holocaust. The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart. Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory? n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in. What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts. On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired. One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places. Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.
