1911年，陈真为师父霍元甲报仇后投身革命加入中国同盟会，受托调查军阀与日本在天津租界的勾结。在执行任务遭伏击、同伴中毒的险境中，陈真与一度为敌的武人郑邵远从对决到联手，最终陈真在租界内与日谍头目决一死战，揭穿阴谋，公之于众。

本片改编自同名小说，故事始于高一夏天，坂平陆（高桥海人 饰）与水村真奈美（芳根京子 饰）在泳池事故后灵魂互换。两人坚信能恢复原状，苦寻方法，然而15年过去，依旧未能换回。升学、初恋、就业、结婚、生子，他们只能以彼此的身体走完人生重大节点。直到30岁那年夏天，真奈美突然说：“我或许知道怎么换回来了。”命运的齿轮，开始再次转动——

But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
