　　与丈夫（安东尼·拉帕格利亚饰）庆祝完结婚25周年后不久，丈夫出差在外，达西（琼·艾伦）在车库找电池，却无意中发现丈夫就是新闻中说的“臭名昭著的连环杀手比蒂”。　　影片的小说蓝本是金2010年出版的短篇小说集《暗夜无星》（Full Dark, No Stars）中的一篇。金在接受采访时说，小说的灵感来自于2005年被捕的美国“BTK连环杀手”丹尼斯·雷德（Dennis Rader），他就有一位结婚三十四年的妻子宝拉（Paula），对他的杀人行为毫不知情。金表示，小说探讨的是，人与人之间永远不可能完全了解，即使是最爱的人也一样。

　　THE CONFINES is a claustrophobic thriller that follows a troubled young woman who, in a last-ditch effort at getting her life together, takes a job working nights as a security guard at an abandoned luxury apartment building. Stuck with a brusque rent-a-cop as her partner, she tries to not let her mind play tricks on her while she patrols the empty halls. But as the night progresses strange things begin to happen - and she realizes it may not all be in her head.
